Hoover Automotive Group - Leadership

Mark Hoover
President and Chief Executive OfficerOwnership of Hoover Automotive Group has remained in the family from the very start, and Mark couldn't be prouder to now serve as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Despite tremendous growth over the decades, Hoover has held fast to the values that its flagship store was founded on. Integrity, transparency, and commitment to customers run deep - and separate Hoover from the rest.
Mark's introduction to the automotive industry came early, while he was still in grade school. As a teenager, Mark learned how to sell cars, quickly proving his prowess on the lot. While the industry has changed since then, the same diligence and dedication that helped Mark excel as a budding car salesman serve him now.
No stranger to hard work, Mark rose through the ranks after graduating from Wofford College in 1986. A job at Hoover Chrysler Plymouth on Savannah Highway brought him back to Charleston, where he continued to grow his knowledge of the car business. After finishing finance and insurance school, Mark was named General Manager of Hoover's Ford store before his 28th birthday. By then, he had moved back to Charleston and was running the Used Car Department at the family's Chrysler store, one of four Hoover dealerships.
After becoming General Manager in 1997, he increased production by 100% in just a matter of months - and proved that hard work not only earns results, but a reputation for excellence throughout the community.
Mark then accepted his position as President and CEO in 2006. Today, Mark and his trusted team remain focused on redefining the car-buying experience, while providing the same quality customer service that has distinguished Hoover for more than 50 years.
Mark has witnessed expansions and improvements through the years - in the dealerships he managed and the local communities they served. As a proud supporter of organizations like Make a Wish Foundation, Camp Happy Days, and Water Missions International, Mark ensures that Hoover Automotive Group gives back as it continues to move forward.
On a local level, Hoover Automotive Group sponsors Cane Bay High School, Lutheran Family Ministries, and the Moncks Corner Rodeo. Mark is also a passionate supporter of conservation efforts that promote the development and protection of wildlife and waterfowl habitats.
Determined to grow Hoover Automotive Group and pass it to the next generation in an even stronger state, Mark never strays from the strong values of its founder - and his father - Ron Hoover. With continued growth as the goal, Mark looks ahead in eager anticipation of all the future holds.
