There’s nothing like the roar of a V8 engine, especially if you’re a fan of American muscle cars.

But as EVs become more popular, more and more people are wondering if electric vehicles could ever capture the raw power that defines a true muscle car.

That’s where the 2025 Dodge Charger EV comes in. This bold reimagining both preserves and amplifies this iconic car’s legacy.

With instant torque delivery that goes from 0-60 mph faster than its gas-powered predecessors, aggressive head-turning styling, and performance figures that would make classic muscle car legends jealous, Dodge has proven that going electric doesn't mean compromising.

Performance Redefined: Electric Power with Muscle Car DNA

The new electric Dodge Charger comes in two trim levels: R/T and Scat Pack.

While the R/T may be the “base” model, it’s anything but basic. Equipped with a dual-motor setup and a 400V propulsion system featuring PowerShot over-boost mode, it delivers an estimated 496 horsepower. And with an estimated range of 317 miles on a full charge, you can go farther with fewer stops to charge up.

The Scat Pack trim turns the power up several notches. With dual motors, one in the front and one in the rear, it provides a jaw-dropping 670 horsepower and goes from 0-60 in just 3.3 seconds. The estimated range is 260 miles, which still gives you plenty of battery life between pit stops.

Both models are compatible with Level 1, Level 2, and DC Fast Charging. With Fast Charging, you’ll go from 20% - 80% in less than half an hour.

If you’re wondering how the Dodge Charger electric car compares to the gas-powered model, you might be surprised. The electric Charger R/T delivers 125 more horsepower than its gas-powered counterpart, while the Scat Pack EV adds a whopping 185 horsepower.

Bold Design Meets Modern Tech in the 2025 Charger EV

With a sculpted body and enhanced aerodynamic improvements, the new Dodge Charger electric maintains the style that makes the Charger so iconic.

The aggressive stance is unmistakably Charger, while modern design elements, like the illuminated Fratzog emblem, serve as Dodge's signature symbol for their electric vehicle identity. Whether you choose the sleek 2-door coupé or the practical 4-door sedan, the exterior delivers that classic muscle car silhouette.

Inside the cabin, Dodge has successfully blended cutting-edge technology with nostalgic touches that pay homage to the Charger's history. The centerpiece of the cabin is a large 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, which is paired with a digital-analog instrument cluster that delivers both modern functionality and classic appeal.

The cabin is driver-focused thanks to premium materials and ergonomic design. The vehicle also comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features, including adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, and additional driver assistance technologies that provide peace of mind without compromising what makes driving a muscle car so special.

What This EV Means for the Future of American Muscle Cars

So, what does the new Dodge Charger EV mean for muscle cars in general?

Only time will tell, but we have some predictions!

With Dodge’s emphasis on sustainability without compromise, the brand is proving that what many thought couldn’t be done actually can be done well. We expect more brands to adopt this approach as Dodge continues to perfect it. And since a muscle car leader is, well, leading the way, we expect more drivers to accept EVs.

We have positive news about the Charger’s signature V8 growl, too! Dodge has been hard at work developing an EV sound system to mimic it, and a patent is pending. You can count on future electric Chargers to have that classic engine roar.
