Models & Expected Pricing
While Jeep has not revealed much about the Grand Wagoneer, we have even fewer details about the slightly less luxurious Wagoneer. Here’s what Jeep’s president has told us about pricing:
2022 Jeep Wagoneer: Expected to start around $60,000
2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer: Base models expected to start around $75,000, with top trims costing over $100,000
Engine And Performance
Designed to outperform the Ford Expedition, Chevy Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade in the 3rd row SUV arena, both the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will pack a powerful punch.
Both models are based on the full-size RAM 1500 and are expected to share its engine and transmission options. Body-on-frame underpinnings borrowed from the RAM’s design are expected as well.
The Grand Wagoneer will feature a plug-in-hybrid powertrain, but we are still waiting to hear more about its all-electric capabilities. It is promised to offer “unmatched” towing capacity, though, with air suspension to ensure a smooth ride.
Retro Styling
This new generation of Wagoneers gave designers the opportunity to reimagine the vehicle that set the standard for family travel back in the 1960s. You’ll notice a few vintage touches in today’s Wagoneer models, but they are admittedly subtle. With seating for seven (2nd row captain’s chairs and rear bench seating), the Grand Wagoneer is still ideal for larger families.
Because most larger SUVs solely focus their attention on the interior, they pale in side-by-side exterior comparisons to the Wagoneer. Jeep’s latest creation looks as good as it rides – and makes no apologies for its hefty size.
The interior comes with all the bells and whistles, too. Check out the 12.1” center touchscreen, with an additional 10.3” touchscreen in front of the front passenger seat! The instrument panel appears to float in a glass canopy, with the center console tucked underneath. From comfort to innovative tech, Jeep has left nothing to be desired.
